This session will look at what skills are required in the National Curriculum for music and how these can be broken down into a learning sequence with activities that will support them.
At the course there will be a focus on practical activities discovering how teachers can use the inter-related dimensions of music to perform, explore and create music with pupils.
Areas covered will include:-
- The aims and expectations of the National Curriculum for Music.
- Discover the inter-related Dimensions of Music and activities that can help the children explore them.
- Discuss what progression in music will look like from Foundation Stage to Year 6.
- Discuss some of the barriers to musical learning and how to overcome them
This CPD session is free for all DFE funded Essex schools. There will be a fee for schools who do not fit this category.
