The Essex Youth Orchestra is inviting young musicians from across Essex to audition at a free workshop on Sunday 6 September 2026 in Chelmsford.![]()

If you, or someone you know, can play at around Grade 7 or above on a string, woodwind, brass or percussion instrument, this is a great opportunity! Members of the Orchestra benefit from expert coaching, challenging repertoire, inspiring performances and opportunities to play in prestigious venues in the UK and overseas.![]()

For those earlier in their orchestral journey, the Essex Young People’s Orchestra is also welcoming new members, providing a pathway into the Youth Orchestra. ![]()

The Saffron Centre for Young Musicians had the pleasure of hosting Sarah Suckling on Saturday 4th July for a cello masterclass. The cello students were lucky enough to experience some valuable 1:1 masterclass tuition from Sarah, as well as taking part in an ensemble workshop. What a great experience!
