During these meetings, research, resources and projects are shared that can be utilized in classrooms and colleagues round the county discuss how music is made in schools. We will also share some quick ideas that can be taken away and use the next day in your classrooms.

Through the power of song and connected learning, we aim to give teachers the opportunity to support biodiversity in creative and active ways.
The RSPB and WWF are excited to offer a FREE national primary teacher training programme and resource package: MEADOWSONG
Training supports primary teachers (Yr3) to stage a musical performance, plant a mini meadow to help pollinators, and deliver a rich programme of classroom and outdoor learning on this topic in the summer term.
- FREE one day training workshop for Y3 teachers
- FREE planning/resources for Science, English, Art, Music and Dance
- FREE music resourcing including backing tracks for an assembly performance
- FREE licence to enable the use of the Meadowsong music in participating schools
CPD places are currently limited to one teacher per school.
This CPD session is free to all DFE funded Essex schools, Southend and Thurrock schools. There will be a fee for schools who do not fit this category.

The day will be full of practical music activities that you can take back to share in school with staff and looking in depth at what it means to lead music in a primary school.
During the day we will explore:
- The role of Music Leader
- National guidance and support for music
- Updated Minimum Expected Standards in Music document (written for new model music curriculum)
- How to structure and plan for music from EYFS to KS2
- Resources and ideas for delivering curriculum content
- Assessment, audits and evaluation
- Singing and vocal development
- Practical ideas

The workshop is suitable for both specialist and generalist practitioners.
