Free one-day workshops – choose either a DJ Taster or Music Production Taster for secondary school pupils
This fully-funded one-day workshop are aimed at vulnerable students in Years 8 to 10 primarily but can be accessed by all.

One-hour taster session for groups of around five secondary school pupils for a hands on introduction and overview of what it means to be a DJ
Session includes:
- Introduction into how to be a DJ
- Hands on experience of working with DJ decks
- Opportunity to create your own beats and mixes
This workshop can also be delivered to larger groups who work with our Tutor over the course of the day to gain a deeper insight into creating your own sets, advanced DJing techniques and promoting yourself as a DJ.

An introductory experience to get to grips with the DAW and the basics of building their own backing tracks
Depending on the number of students in the session and the length of time they have, this workshop can cover some or all of the following:
- Introduction to the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation)
- Creating the backing for your track
- Support with lyric writing and editing
- Introduction to mastering your track
- Overview of creating a campaign and how to make money from your music
This workshop can be completed with a small group of students who our Tutor works with over the course of the day to cover aspects of Music Production and the music industry.
Once the students have had a taster experience, you can invest in weekly sessions for students to develop their tracks and knowledge of the music industry business over time including:
- recording vocals
- intermediate and advanced production and mixing techniques,
- Mastering,
- Using social media to promote your music
- Monetizing your music
